Civil work activities
Somcable civil work activities are fully underway. Cables for a high speed fibre optic network from Djibouti to Berbera, Hargeisa, being funded by Somcable and the sister company Independent tobacco, arrived in the country recently. Project Manager Bernerd Saint-Cyr said the consignment for the 1200 kilometres stretch is underway in full speed with cable laying and terminating, after which testing will begin.
